Take a breath of clean air in industrial environments

The quality of air workers breathe is especially important in facilities that process dust, to include pulp and paper plants, cement plants, steel and saw mills, petroleum coke plants, metallurgical plants, etc. In these types of facilities where air quality is important, dust collectors are used to remove granular solid pollutants from exhaust gases or recover particles from the process streams by trapping the bulk of them within their steel bodies, so as not to become lodged in the sensitive lung tissue of human bodies, and make for cleaner air exhausted outside into the surrounding community as well.

These dust collecting components, equipment, and systems used to collect dust from industrial processes are made of tough metal, such as carbon steel, stainless steel and cast aluminum. Even the flexible hoses used in abrasive dust collection systems incorporate metal wire covered with rubber, making steel dust collecting systems a powerful integrated force in industrial dust collection. Since plastic pipe systems are not designed for dust collection use, heavy gauge steel or cast aluminum fittings and components are needed. These durable dust collecting parts are made of galvanized or stainless steel and provide the corrosion resistance needed in dust collecting systems.

During the process of collecting air containments, dust is sucked up through the pickup hoods into the ducting, spun around in the vortex of a cyclone separator, with the majority being forced to drop into the bin collector/disposal unit and some sticking to the sides of the cylinder or in the bag filters, while the cleaned air is sucked out through an exhaust pipe by a fan/motor device. Dust disposal and recovery systems operate 24/7 as a single unit or an interconnected series of exhaust pickup hoods, ducting, cyclone separators, bag filters, fans and vent piping, gathering harmful process generated dust at the source.
